Albania Tradition Motorcycle tour through the Balkans

(Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo and North Macedonia)

The Balkans, a region of Europe very little explored by motorcycle. This trip will give you the opportunity to discover a rich and diverse culture, full of history but also to travel through sublime landscapes between sea and mountains.

Itinerary 
Day 1

Arrival in Tirana

Arrival in Tirana and visit of the capital.

Day 2

Tirana - Kruje- Fushe Arrez (200 km = 4h)

Departure to the city of Kruja.  Located up on a hill, this small town offers a magnificent view to of the Adriatic Sea. We will visit a museum dedicated to the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg and then, ride to the village of Fushe Arrez. We will ride along a mountain route ideal for motorbikers, offering splendid views around every bend. We will spend the night in a guesthouse where you can enjoy the warm welcome of the northern Albanians.

Day 3

Fushe Arrez - Fierze – Koman lake - Troshan (130 km = 3h30)

We will continue our trip and during a few hours you will enjoy this bendy mountain road by motorcycle until you reach a ferry terminal so we can cross Koman lake. This short break will allow you to admire the landscape, similar to the fjords of Norway, where the unspoiled nature offers a spectacle worthy of admiration.

Then we ride with the motorcycles back to the village of Troshan.

In Mrizi i Zanave restaurant, you will have the pleasure to have a small gastronomic stop during which you will be able to taste the local cuisine, famous all over Albania. Finally, we will spend the night in a local family home and have an unforgettable experience of cultural exchange.

Day 4

Troshan - Budva (Monténégro) (120 km, 3h)

Morning departure to Montenegro.

After crossing the border, we will explore the small mountain roads that will lead us straight to "paradise". The Montenegrin Riviera offers superb views of the Adriatic Sea. Then we will reach the town of Budva. A walk in the old town and a nice break on the terrace are planned.

Day 5

Budva - Kotor - Village of Njegusi - Podgorica (140 km= 4h)

Early morning departure to discover Montenegro. The scenery of the ''Dolce Vita'' will accompany us today. Riviera, small typical towns, riding along the coast and the beautiful city of Kotor listed by UNESCO will be on the menu of this day. Then we leave the seaside behind to discover the narrow mountain roads.

A short stop is planned in the village of Njegusi to taste the typical products of this region. Then we ride towards the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica. Discovery of the alleys full of life of the capital by foot.

Day 6

Podgorica - Peje (Kosovo) (220 km = 4h)

After breakfast we will leave for Kosovo. Twists, mountains and forests will be on the menu of the day. After crossing the border, we will reach the town of Peje in Kosovo and start our tour with the Orthodox Monastery of Peje.  Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this monastery will unveil to us its magnificent frescoes. Then a walk in the city will allow you to discover the lifestyle of Kosovars.

Day 7

Peje - Prizren - Skopje (North Macedonia)

The rest of our trip will take us through a beautiful part of Kosovo. We will have a stop in the characteristic city of Prizren where a small walk is planned in order to know the history of this city, very important for Albanians. Then we will take the mountain roads again to go towards North Macedonia. In the afternoon we will visit the city of Skopje and its beautiful monuments by foot.

Day 8

Skopje - Ohrid (240 km = 4h)

Departure in the morning, direction Northern Macedonia. Beautiful views, small villages, narrow roads and many turns will perhaps make your ''Macedonia of fruits'' of discovery of this beautiful country.  We will reach the gorgeous city of Ohrid. This city is one of the oldest in Europe and is classified in UNESCO. Located at the edge of lake Ohrid, the city offers a very rich history.

Day 9

Ohrid - Village of Rehova (Albania)- Leskovik ( 170 km = 4h)

We will leave the city but not Ohrid lake yet. We will ride along the shore of the lake to the border and back to Albania. The road to the village of Rehove is quieter. We will have a lunch break at a local house there to taste delicious homemade dishes. Then we return to the bended roads and the mountains to reach the village of Leskovik. There we will meet an ageless person, a wine maker from the communist era. Wine tasting, food and socializing will be a highlight of our stay in this village.

Day 10

Leskovik - Gjirokastra - Butrint (190 km, 4h)

The following morning, we will go to the city of Gjirokastra. Classified in the UNESCO, this city of stone is as charming as its inhabitants and its delicacies. Discovery of the city by foot. Then we will leave Gjirokastra for the archaeological site of Butrint. To join Butrint we will ride on a pass, a mountain road which will make us cross the citrus fruits fields. The site of Butrint will submerge you in the ancient history of this region located between Illyria, Greece, Macedonia of Alexander the Great, Rome and Byzantium.

Day 11

Butrint - Riviera - Llogora (110km = 2h30)

Finally, we will leave for the magnificent region of the Albanian Riviera. There we have a break at the seaside to relax in front of the turquoise blue water of the Ionian Sea. Then at the end of the afternoon we will meet again with mountains and reach the national park of Llogora.

Day 12

Llogora - Belsh - Tirana (210 km = 4h)

Return to Tirana. We will cross the beautiful region of Belsh composed of 84 small lakes. The cultivated lands, the hills of olive trees and the lakes are part of this sublime landscape. We will then head towards Tirana. We will drop the motorcycles off and then we continue our discovery of the city by foot. The evening will be dominated by traditional Albanian music. After dinner and traditional dances, we will end the night in the district of Bllok, very lively with bars and terraces of cafes.

Day 13

Departure

We will accompany you to the airport of Tirana. End of the trip.
